UH Photographic Images Collection: Natural History

An online natural history digital photography library, this collection will include digital surrogates of thousands of legacy 35 mm slide film produced from faculty research and expeditions. The collection plans to include the Charles Lamoureux and the Harold St. John Photographic Collections.

The Lamoureux Collection provides a view of the rich biodiversity of Hawaii and peoples of the Pacific/Asia region. Many of the areas in which these photographs were taken now much changed by Hawaii's population growth.

The St. John photographs provide a wonderful window on the ways and means of Pacific Island field botany (Tahiti, Rapa, Fiji) in the 1930's.
